It turns out that the data is derived from the cloud–the numbers reflect the choices made by 1000 + developers.
Now I have no doubt that these figures accurately reflect usage patterns at Jelastic. But here is why I do not think that the developers at a single cloud-based startup that represents all the open source database user:
* The Developers Choose a provider of cloud start-ups can't be accurate sample of the total users, and so as a group make a different choice than the whole universe is an open source database users;
* Java developers may, as a group, tend to make a different choice of developers who are using other platforms;
